Rashida
Jones was born today to Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton, forty-one years ago.
Quincy
is the man behind the Austin Powers theme song, “Soul Bosa Nova”, as well as
several seminal albums such as “Thriller” by Michael Jackson. He is, like his
daughter, a Piscean, born towards the Martian end of the season rather than the
Neptunian end.
Peggy
Lipton, his partner, was a Virgo. (Traditionally, Virgos and Pisceans merge in
romantic bliss, as polar opposite ends of the Zodiac.) She was known, in
addition to her voluptuous looks, for such roles as Norma Jennings in David
Lynch’s classic show Twin Peaks.
The
looks linger in Rashida, as well as the talent. She has her mother’s dopey*
smile, her father’s skin tone, and the general complexion (eyes especially) of
a female Piscean.

*Dopey
is used here with an endearing tone. Pisceans are of course notoriously “dopey”
as well.
Today
is all so apparently, according to a Google Doodle, the birthday of Ida Lewis,
a lighthouse keeper who, at considerable risk to her own safety, rescued
several Americans from drowning and was named Bravest Woman in America.
You
should see the paintings of her. Not very prone towards having photographs
taken, (given the time) she was the object of several portraits that make her
look, to my eye, like a female Neptune.
