On the Absurdity of Analysing “Past” Events
Nothing can be learned from the analysis of memories, with
one exception: An insight into one’s current subjective prejudices which come
into play in the personal mythologisation of a set of scattered mental images,
unheard sounds, and other imagined sensations into a “cohesive” fiction known
as “My Life”.
In this sense, the one who is asked to refer to any
definition of his or herself by which he or she should be compelled to use
Memory would best meet the criteria for Sanity should he or she NOT produce a
cohesive narrative but a scattered “mess” of apparently unassociated phrases
that lack any kind of traditionally accepted narrative structure.
