Narcissism
is simply delusional and tautological; you begin by projecting your own
selfishness and dysfunction upon others, and then you use this projection in
turn to reinforce your own selfishness and dysfunction, as though they had been
set as an example and justified in defense. (“Of what?” one may ask.)
Conversely, it is not delusional to expect kindness and empathy of others if
one has been met with it, for that at least establishes its existence, and
while narcissism is the systematic NEGATION of something, kindness is an
affirmation. One can disprove the nonexistence of kindness by its sheer
existence.
