What
troubles me most are not the inherent problems of Humanity but the
heavy-handedness of those who attempt to resolve them by systematic blame. I
must make a point forever to remind myself that whatever constructive changes I
have made I made in small and subtle ways, in concert with the tradition of upaya (skillful means) and gentle
persuasion, rather than an arrogant and egocentric use of fruitless force.
That
being said, I must take an aggressive stance nonetheless against the abuse of
subtlety. It is too precious a tool to be reduced to a weapon for brute
purposes.
