Addendum: Antidote to Cynicism.

No one likes to feel bad about one's self.
To the degree that one is conscientious, to that same degree what you do hurts that person.
This is an injustice.
All so: you try to bring people down to the level of degenerates of rather lesser scrupulousness and holiness. You cannot reconcile these saints with these sinners, so you compel the former to answer to the latter and empower the latter to impose their will upon the former.
This is all so an injustice.
And at the root of it you have no actual warrant.
MOST of the things that people do are not in violation of a moral Universal Principle, but of a totally individuated Preference upon your part.
You have no ethos. As a thoroughly amoral person your preferences are totally arbitrary. No one can take them seriously, so you hide them. No one can take YOU seriously, so you DEMAND that they do. And only when it is convenient for you to do so! That you call "subtlety". Others simply call it "manipulative".
You use the offense of others to yourself and your agenda as an excuse to further your agenda. Yet your agenda will all ways REMAIN arbitrary until you totally pardon the offense, recognizing not only its own selfishness but ALL so the relative selflessness of some of your offenders. But to see that is to let go of your amorality. Until then, your amorality will perpetually be the source of your projections, which in turn will be used to justify your amorality. Such is samsara.

No one has done harm to you.
You have only harmed yourself by electing to harm them.
People are not that bad.
So stop using cynicism as an excuse.
There is enough good in people that one can say that no one likes the demeaning cynicism. And one can by the same token insist that they do not deserve it.

Stop exploiting the conscientiousness of good people. You can make even a saint feel bad just for being a saint, turning his conscience against itself whilst his only sin is association with you.
It is not a talent. It is witchcraft that will only end up hurting everyone, yourself included.

And finally: stop empowering bad people. It can create excuses for you. But it will not make you or any one else feel any better.
